A Special Letter from Joyce Berg and Patty Hansberry, President – Board of Trustees:

Dear Friends of the Angel Museum,

St. Paul on the Riverfront DBA The Angel Museum, a not for profit 501c3 corporation, is struggling. We do not have sufficient funds , memberships, corporate sponsors, or volunteers to staff and operate the museum. We are now celebrating 20 years in business, but will be unable to open and continue in 2019.

We are so appreciative for the thousands of you who have visited and supported us through the years. We extend a very loving thank you to all.

What will happen between now and the end of the this year we are not quite sure. The angels will likely have to travel.

Perhaps there are those among you that could offer a helpful solution to us. If so, please contact us soon as our closure is imminent.

Patty Hansberry
President, Board of Trustees

Sallie Adams receive Volunteer of the year award

Image: Sallie Adams receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award

Sallie started her professional life as a teacher down south eventually coming to Beloit. Upon her retirement she was asked to be a board member at The Angel Museum. After becoming a board member she was asked to become an admissions person. She had to think about that and after careful consideration she accepted. Since then Sallie has spent many days at the museum in admissions and is a very knowledgeable docent. She taught me the little things that get lost when a new admissions person learns about the angels. I have personally seen how she connects with the volunteers and visitors to the museum. Each person leaves with a little more knowledge about the angels. Sallie also helps with planning the dinner for hometown heroes. She remains a reliable and committed volunteer.

Thank you Sallie for all you have done to help the museum succeed!

Angels Among Us

The Angel Museum has launched a new initiative which began in May. The yearlong campaign, “Angels Among Us,” officially kicked off recognizing police officers in our local communities. Police officers in the City of Beloit, Town of Beloit and South Beloit were recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty in work and life for the protection of the cities they serve. City of Beloit Police Officer Lorenzo Henderson said the program is a chance to showcase the positive things that people do.“I think it’s particularly a positive thing to do in light of recent times,” he said, noting some wrongdoings and negative publicity concerning police. “This is a chance to showcase officers who go above and beyond.”
